SMB tricks
The Super Mario Brothers series for NES flat out rocked. LIke many people, my first impression of NES back in the late 80’s was with playing hours of SMB 1. Even though you can only move to the right, the baddies are brainless, and it can easily be beaten within 15 minutes, this game will always be one of my favorites. When I was younger I had heard of a couple tricks like jumping over the flagpole and the elusive -1 world, but this was before the great Internet was common place, and I had no access to the specifics of how to these things off. Now all this can be found with ease and people like me can go back and revisit the game in nostalgic bliss. Here’s some pics of me pulling off the -1 world trick from the second level. I had always heard that this is where is was done, but though you had to jump over the brick wall. Nope, just jump through it.
FYI, jumping over the flagpole is possible too. Try it in level 3-3 with an emulator because it will take several tries.
